We believe that changing how society perceives blindness is as critical as providing direct support. Through our Social Perception Change domain, we work across workplaces, educational institutions, and public platforms to build empathy, break stigma, and inspire inclusive thinking. Through immersive experiences, engaging events, and collaborative efforts, we reach out to public with one powerful message “All of us are responsible for inclusion”.
Initiatives to alter social perceptions
- Workplaces: We work with corporate enterprises to turn workplaces into arenas of inclusion through “DECODE”, Equibeing’s inclusive sports sessions.
- Educational Institutions: Change does not happen in isolation,it thrives on shared experiences. This belief powers EquiBeing’s multilocation campaigns that turns campuses into hubs of empathy and action.
- General Public: Our social media presence and on-ground activities, strengthened by collaborations with stakeholders, aim to spark change in perceptions, one step at a time. We also spearhead events that embodies the spirit of accessibility and inclusion.

Community Outreach
With 9 out of 10 blind individuals out of work and 1 out of 2 children out of education, the need for community outreach and rehabilitation is quite crucial. We aim to identify and mobilize blind individuals with a focus to (a) enroll out-of-school children into blind schools (b) Enroll out of-work individuals into skill development/ livelihood programmes and (c) Understand the blind/ VI community including, their socio-economic, psycho-social and educational status and needs.
Our efforts in community outreach has resulted in
- 72% increase in admissions in Govt Blind School Mysuru
- 120 unemployed youth identified for Skill Development Programme
